Information We Collect
Information you provide to us
When you submit a trip planning inquiry through our website, we collect your name, email address, and phone number, along with travel dates, group details, lodging preferences, and any comments you include.
When you make a reservation, we collect additional information necessary to complete your booking, including billing address and payment details. Payment card data is collected and processed exclusively by our PCI-compliant payment processors (Stripe and Vacation Rent Payment). Nantucket Accommodations staff never store your full payment card number.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our servers automatically record standard log data when you visit, including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and date and time of access. This information is used for security monitoring and aggregate analytics only and is not linked to your personal identity.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies to maintain your session and improve your browsing experience. We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking across other websites. You may disable cookies in your browser settings; however, some site features may not function correctly without them.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to respond to your lodging inquiry and help you find availability, process and confirm reservations, contact you about your booking before, during, and after your stay, and comply with legal and tax recordkeeping obligations. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for advertising purposes.
Information We Share
We share your personal information only as necessary to fulfill your booking.
Lodging properties: When you book a vacation rental, hotel, inn, or B&B through Nantucket Accommodations, we share your name, contact information, and reservation details with the property owner or manager.
Transportation partners: When booking ferry transportation (including Steamship Authority), we share the guest information required to complete that reservation.
Payment processors: Stripe and Vacation Rent Payment receive payment information necessary to process your transaction. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
Email delivery: We use Resend to deliver confirmation and inquiry emails. Resend receives recipient email addresses for the sole purpose of message delivery.
Legal compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our guests, staff, or property.
Data Retention
Inquiry form submissions are retained for up to 2 years. Reservation records and payment transaction records are retained for 7 years in accordance with Massachusetts tax and accounting requirements. Server log files are retained for up to 90 days.
Security
We use SSL/TLS encryption to protect data transmitted between your browser and our website. Payment transactions are handled exclusively by PCI-compliant processors. We do not store payment card numbers on our servers or in our systems. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
Children's Privacy
Our website is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through our site, please contact us immediately and we will remove it promptly.
International Visitors
Our website is operated in the United States. If you are visiting from outside the US, please be aware that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
Your Choices
You may contact us at any time to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or ask us to delete your inquiry or contact information. Note that reservation records required for legal and tax purposes cannot be deleted on request.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
